Pregnancy and Beyond

This workshop is intended to be a safe and supportive environment to explore your mood,
your relationship to food and your body image, and with your significant relationship during pregnancy.

This workshop is meant to maximize your mental health, prenatally, to ensure a happy and
healthy pregnancy, and a wonderful bonding time with your newborn. This pregnancy workshop is
to focus on the joys of pregnancy and the rewards of pending motherhood. The goal is to shore up your
coping skills during your pregnancy that will be necessary in those first intense months with your newborn.

We have found that a personal or family history of depression or anxiety, a history of an eating disorder,
or a personal history with abuse or trauma, can all be risk factors for Postpartum Depression.  Prevention
for postpartum begins with shoring up one’s coping skills during pregnancy.

Workshop utilizes experiential methods such as mindfulness meditation,
guided imagery, breathing techniques, and art therapy.
